Information Systems Security Engineer
Dogwood Management Partners, an SDVOSB, is seeking an information systems security professional who has experience working with the federal government on related Information Assurance security engineering and certification & accreditation (C&A). This is a fulltime position on an existing contract offering an excellent salary + benefits. However, it can also be set up on an hourly corp to corp basis. Due to the clearance requirements, no third party consultants or visa candidates can be considered.
The keys to success for someone performing in this role will be his/her ability to understand information security from a security engineering/mitigation perspective as well as the ability to understand the government’s policy standards regarding information technology security. The person we are seeking must be able to understand network configuration and work with the security engineering team to mitigate risks while being able to understand NIST policy and regulations that relate to the possible mitigation practices. This lead person will also be relied upon to evaluate and report on new security software/technology that may help enhance the security posture of the agency.
The requirements: US Citizenship & min Secret Clearance– preferred Top Secret
• A bachelor’s degree or higher
• A security certification such as Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc.
• Hands on Security engineering experience Ie. Nessus scan, CM, Encryption, or VOIP/LINUX/Windows Network security
• Experience with Security Product reviews
• At least 3 - 5 years relevant experience in information security
• Preferred (DHS), or NIST information security experience (recent)
• STIG Hardening and methodology understanding
• ability obtain a DHS Suitability (EOD)
